Fifth Grade students have been very busy!
In math, students have been reviewing fractions and will soon begin a unit on addition and subtraction of fractions. They have been encouraged to look around each day and observe all the ways that fractions are used in our everyday lives! Students can also access Study Island. This website gives students great EOG practice and is aligned with our 5th Grade Standard Course of Study. In Science and Social Studies, students have been studying Energy, Forces of Motion, and the American Revolution. They have also enjoyed the Muddy Sneakers program that fifth grade is participating in this year. This outdoor education experience gives students the opportunity to observe and become active in this subject in a fun and interesting way! In reading, students are going to be diving into some 5th grade novels! They will continue to work on comprehension skills and context clues. Also, every four Wordly Wise lessons, 5th graders participate in a grade level bee. Have your child study their vocabulary words daily!
